01 Preparing Your Order with Care

After an order is placed, Tropea asks customers to allow approximately 3-5 business days for the product to be:

  • Prepared
  • Finished
  • Packed
  • Made ready for dispatch

Custom orders and larger-volume orders can require additional preparation time.

If extra preparation time is needed, Tropea states that customers will be kept updated.

Typical Preparation Time

Standard orders: 3-5 business days

Custom and larger orders: Additional preparation time may be required.

02 Shipping Times & Carriers

Tropea works with Kurasi, an Indonesia-based logistics platform, to arrange international shipments.

The carrier and estimated delivery time depend mainly on:

  • Destination country
  • Total shipment weight

United States

Orders under 1 kg

  • Carrier: USPS
  • Estimated delivery: 10-20 business days

Orders 1 kg and above

  • Carrier: DHL
  • Estimated delivery: 7-14 business days
  • Customs duty may apply.

Other Countries

Orders under 1 kg

  • Carrier: Local courier
  • Estimated delivery: 10-20 business days

Orders 1 kg and above

  • Carrier: DHL
  • Estimated delivery: 7-14 business days
  • Customs duty may apply.

Tropea makes clear that these delivery periods are estimates, rather than guaranteed arrival dates.

Actual transit time may vary due to:

  • Destination
  • Customs processing
  • Local carrier conditions

Customs, Duties & Import Taxes

International orders may be subject to charges imposed by the destination country, including:

  • Customs duties
  • Import taxes
  • Other import-related charges

Where these charges apply, they are not included in the Tropea order total and are the responsibility of the buyer.

If tracking shows a message such as awaiting payment of duty or tax, this normally indicates that the local customs authority requires payment before the parcel can be released.

Because customs rules differ from country to country, Tropea recommends checking local import requirements before ordering, particularly when purchasing larger shell-based items.

Export Documentation

Because Tropea sells products made with shells, some international shipments can require additional official documentation.

Depending on the product and destination, this may include:

  • Export documentation
  • Species verification
  • Other paperwork needed for international transport

When documentation is required, Tropea prepares the appropriate paperwork before the parcel leaves Bali to help support customs clearance at the destination.

Tracking Your Order

Once an order has been dispatched, Tropea sends the customer tracking information by email.

The page describes the delivery journey in four steps:

1 - Order Prepared
The product is finished and packed in Bali.

2 - Order Dispatched
The parcel begins its international journey.

3 - Tracking Sent
The customer receives tracking information by email.

4 - Delivered
The order arrives at the destination.

Delayed or Held at Customs?

Tropea explains that a customs hold can be a normal part of international shipping and does not necessarily mean that the parcel is lost.

If a shipment appears delayed, customers can contact Tropea for help reviewing the tracking information.
